Founded in 1981
and incorporated in 1985 as the Helen Hayes Hospital Citizens
Advisory Council, the organization changed its name in 1999
to the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation, Inc. The Foundation
is a tax exempt corporation as described in section 501(c)(3)
by the Internal Revenue Service.
As a not-for-profit organization, the Helen
Hayes Hospital Foundation relies upon charitable contributions
to address the needs of the hospital that are not met by traditional
funding sources. This includes special equipment, seed money
for research, support groups, patient equipment loans, adaptive sports and
other items/services that promote physical rehabilitation
medicine.
Your gifts
make the difference!
Gifts to the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation have included, artwork,
stock, annuities, copyright residuals, retirement
benefits and bequests in wills. All gifts
are used to perpetuate the tradition of excellence.
Unrestricted gifts enable the Foundation to direct
the donor's contribution to the hospital's most pressing needs.
The Founders Fund is an annual appeal designed to facilitate
these gifts.
Planned gifts include naming the Foundation as a
beneficiary in a will, trust or other estate or tax plan.
Individuals who make a planned gift are eligible for membership
in the Helen Hayes Hospital Heritage Society, which gives
special recognition for their support.
Memorial or Honorary Gifts can be a tribute to a
loved one or recognize an important event such as a birthday
or anniversary. The individual(s) being honored or the family
of those being remembered is notified of the generous gift
in their name(s). All donation amounts are kept confidential
unless otherwise specified.
Matching gifts provide the donor with a way of increasing
their support by having their employer match the gift. Many
corporations have matching gift policies, which they encourage
their employees to take advantage of. Please check with your
human resource representative for details about your company's
policy.
