HHH CampusLocated in northern Rockland County, HHH is approximately 35 minutes north of New York City. Our 100+ acre campus commands magnificent views of the Hudson River. Helen Hayes herself once said that the River offered patients another form of therapy, motivating them to return to life outside the hospital. Patients and visitors may stroll around the campus on the paved walking paths, enjoying our outdoor sculptures and gardens. Therapists also use the outdoor setting as another treatment option, practicing walking, wheeling and other newly acquired skills. -

AtriumAs you enter the hospital's Atrium, you will immediately see how the huge skylights bathe the expansive lobby in light, creating a warm and comfortable space. The Atrium provides easy access to the Café, conference center, patient beauty salon, chapel, patient units and other areas of the hospital, with clear, color-coded signage leading the way. It also offers a perfect spot to relax in an intimate nook and savor the wonderful views of the Hudson River while taking in the sounds of a concert, or viewing the hospital's historical exhibit. -
Gift ShopLocated directly off the Atrium, the Gift Shop has something for patients and visitors alike. An array of merchandise, including cards, paperback books, magazines, personal and gift items and adaptive equipment is beautifully displayed against rich mahogany walls. The Shop is also the perfect spot for patients to retreat to, and visitors to treat themselves to, a tempting snack or cup of coffee. The Gift Shop is operated by the hospital's Volunteer Corps, with all proceeds benefiting patient programs and services. -
Disability UnitsThe patient tower is divided into patient-centered, disability-specific units. Patients with stroke, for instance, are all admitted to the 24-bed stroke unit, with similar units for spinal cord and brain injury, orthopedics and other conditions. Each unit is specially equipped to meet the needs of the patients on that unit. The recently renovated nursing stations serve as the hub of the unit, which also features specially designed, accessible bathrooms, patient lifts, spacious hallways, internet access and other patient-friendly accommodations. -
Patient RoomsPatient rooms are located on disability-specific units and are designed to be fully accessible, with spacious layouts and over-sized windows, some with spectacular Hudson River views. Patients have their own individual storage closets and drawers. Televisions are available and some rooms offer recliners for family members to stay overnight. Telephones are installed in each room and can be used free of charge for incoming and local calls. Cell phone use and wifi internet access are both available in accordance with hospital usage policies. Space to post cards, photographs and mementos personalize the room. -

Therapy GymPatients receive physical and occupational therapy in expansive therapy gyms located on each floor, in close proximity to their room. Each gym is designed to meet the needs of patients on that unit, whether they have a spinal cord or brain injury, stroke, cardiac disorder, or other condition. From LiteGait trainers to NuStep machines to large padded mats for hands-on therapy, each gym is fully equipped with the devices that offer patients the latest technology and most appropriate treatment modalities. -
LibraryThe HHH Medical and Patient Library is open to patients and visitors every afternoon. An array of books, magazines and newspapers is available for browsing and computer terminals with internet access are also available for use. The Library houses and extensive collection of medical books and journals, focused primarily on rehabilitation related topics. -
CafeteriaLocated right off the Atrium, the Riverview Café is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday. Along with daily specials, the cafeteria offers a broad selection of hot and cold meals, including soups, sandwiches and salads. Vending machines offer a selection of refreshments when the cafeteria is closed. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. -
Aquatics CenterThe hospital's sophisticated aquatics center offers a warm-water 25' X 60' pool, heated to 92-94 degrees, with hydraulic lifts and stairways fitted with handrails to provide access to individuals of differing abilities. The flat floor, which is divided into several depths, enables individuals of varying heights to exercise comfortably. Individuals with low back pain, osteoporosis, arthritis, spinal cord injury, orthopedic disorders and other conditions will find aquatic therapy and exercise beneficial in reducing pain and increasing physical function. The pool is used by inpatients, outpatients and community members. -
MacArthur ParkDubbed “MacArthur Park” in honor of the hospitals namesake, Helen Hayes MacArthur, this peaceful oasis overlooking the River is an ideal spot for patients and their visitors to relax and soak in the beauty of the Hudson River Valley. The accessible gazebo provides a shady retreat, while the outdoor benches and tables offer an ideal spot to visit and catch up. The Park is accessible through the first floor dining room. -

Outpatient Physical TherapyThe hospital's dedicated outpatient physical therapy suite is outfitted with an extensive array of state-of-the-art equipment to help individuals with orthopedic, neurological and other disorders to regain their mobility, strength and endurance. Following a thorough evaluation, a physical therapist develops a customized therapeutic program to help an individual reach their treatment goals. The spacious outpatient physical therapy area features a wall of windows overlooking a courtyard fountain and offers private treatment zones. Outpatient therapy is also offered at the hospital's satellite rehabilitation facility in Nyack. -
Noyes Conference CenterThe conference center, named in honor of a former patient and benefactor of the hospital, is equipped with a state-of-the-art audio visual system and versatile seating. From professional symposiums and conferences, to medical lectures and informal receptions, the center is an ideal back-drop for hospital staff, as well as members of local and professional organizations to come together. The rich mahogany paneling, wall of windows and adjacent patio overlooking the river offer a warm and comfortable atmosphere. -
Family DormFor out-of-town family members who may wish to spend extended time with a patient, Patient Relations can assist with on-site dormitory room lodging. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for short stays. For information, call 845-786-4210.
