Public Notice of Joint Commission Accreditation Process

July 21, 2011

The Joint Commission is expected to conduct an unannounced accreditation survey of Helen Hayes Hospital this year. The purpose of the survey will be to evaluate Helen Hayes Hospital’s compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The information obtained during the survey process helps organizations improve their services. The information may also assist in educating consumers and other health care recipients to make informed decisions regarding their health care. Survey results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to the organization.

Joint Commission standards deal with organizational quality of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. Should you have a safety or quality concern, you are encouraged to contact the Patient Relations Director at Helen Hayes Hospital at 845-786-4210. If your concerns are not addressed to your satisfaction, or if you believe you have pertinent and valid information about these matters, you may contact the Join Commission at:
