An ATM is located in the Atrium. The Rockland Federal Credit Union is also located in the Atrium and is open Monday, Thursday and Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (closed for lunch 2-2:45)
Located on the 1st floor, the RiverView Café offers breakfast (7:00 to 10:30am) and lunch (11:30am to 2:00pm) and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visitors may buy meals in the Café. Vending machines are available at all times. A guide to local restaurants and take out/delivery services is available at the nursing station.
Through the generosity of the hospital’s Volunteer Corps, the Recreational Therapy Department offers the HHH Performing Arts Series every weekend. A variety of musicians and performing artists provide entertainment in the Atrium on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Patients and visitors are welcome to enjoy the shows, which are free of charge.
The Recreational Therapy Department also schedules a variety of activities that patients may choose to participate in, including playing of games or pet therapy. A schedule of events for the month is posted and will be provided on admission. The Department also makes DVD’s, videos, audiotapes and books on tape available.
Gift Shop and Cart
The Gift Shop is operated by the Volunteer Corps and is located directly off the Atrium. Candy, gift items, personal articles, books and magazines, adaptive equipment, and stamps are available. Volunteers also visit each floor with the Gift Cart, which is stocked with a limited supply of snacks and gift items for your convenience. One hundred percent of Gift Shop proceeds benefit patient services.
The beautician is here two evenings a week, by appointment only. Preference will be given to newly admitted patients. These services are offered free of charge to patients.
Helen Hayes Hospital provides non-secure Internet access for patients who wish to use their personal laptop, PDA or other wireless device. Such equipment is used at the patient’s own risk and the hospital is not responsible for any spy ware, ad ware, malware, virus infection or adverse effects on hardware, software or data while using this service. This service is offered free of charge on a best effort basis.

There are washers and dryers available on each patient unit. Detergent is sold in the Gift Shop.
Located on the 1st floor, the library offers patient and consumer health resources, daily newspapers and magazines. Talking book applications are available.
Massage & Reiki Therapy Services
These therapy services are offered on a fee-for-service basis. These services are offered by a licensed therapist. Patients have first priority, followed by patient families. Prior to making an appointment, patients must first receive medical clearance from their HHH physician.
Religious Services, Pastoral Care, and the Chapel
Arrangements can be made for patients and families to see any of our clergy privately by calling Patient Relations at ext. 4210. The chapel is located off the Atrium and is open at all times to patients and visitors. Religious service as follows: Catholic Services – Saturday at 5:30pm. Protestant Services – Sunday at 11:30am.
Patients may make and receive calls between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Incoming calls will be connected directly to a patient’s extension. Local outgoing calls can be made free of charge. The hospital operator will put all other calls through to outside operators for third party billing. Cell phones are permitted in non-patient areas.
TV Rental & Service
Personal TV rental is available. Payment may be made via cash, check or credit card. Televisions are also located in dining rooms, quiet rooms and in Recreation.
