The Clinical Research
Center (CRC), initiated by support from New York State and
the MacArthur Foundation, was established by Helen Hayes Hospital
in 1996. The CRC offers a centralized area for clinicians
within the rehabilitation hospital to conduct clinical research
projects. Work at the Center concentrates on the pathogenesis,
treatment and rehabilitation methodologies corresponding to
the broad spectrum of diseases that hospital patients present.
While a major focus of the clinical research is osteoporosis,
the center also has ongoing studies on cardiac and pulmonary
rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, brain injury and stroke,
among other areas. |
